Since 1973, the International Moose Symposium has brought together researchers and practitioners
across the northern hemisphere to discuss and present the latest research and news on one of the most iconic northern ungulate - the moose.
For the second time, the symposium will be held in Sweden. This time, it takes place in the beautiful town of Östersund, located in central
Sweden, in a county where about 40,000 moose roam the forests.
While the moose is at the heart of this conference, the discussions will also explore its interactions with other deer species,
predators, the forest, and wildlife management. The title for the ninth international moose symposium is:
Changed distribution range, competing deer species, and society's climate transition -
challenges in today's moose management.
